At Treadies HVAC & R, we understand the critical role that proper ventilation plays in maintaining the comfort, health, and energy efficiency of Passive Houses. Our Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) and Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV) systems are designed to provide a continuous supply of fresh, filtered air while minimising energy loss, ensuring your space meets strict Passive House standards.
Our team of experienced HVAC specialists is committed to designing and installing high-performance ventilation systems that enhance indoor air quality and contribute to energy efficiency and sustainability.
At Treadies, our team is committed to delivering high-performance solutions that align with Passive House standards, including:
We offer complete HRV solutions that efficiently exchange stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air, recovering heat in the process. Our systems ensure optimal indoor air quality without compromising on energy performance.
Below we’ve answered some of the most common questions about HRV & ERV systems to help you make an informed decision. Got more questions not covered here? Feel free to reach out to us via our contact page. We’re here to help you find the best cooling solutions tailored to your needs.
HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilation) systems transfer heat between incoming and outgoing air to maintain indoor temperature while providing fresh air. ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilation) systems do the same but also transfer moisture, helping to control indoor humidity levels.
Passive Houses are airtight to maximise energy efficiency, which makes proper ventilation essential for maintaining indoor air quality. HRV and ERV systems ensure continuous fresh air circulation without significant energy loss.
By recovering heat (and moisture in the case of ERVs) from outgoing air, these systems reduce the energy needed to heat or cool incoming air, lowering overall energy consumption.
We recommend servicing your system at least once a year, including filter replacements and performance checks, to ensure optimal efficiency and air quality.
Costs vary depending on the size of your Passive House, the complexity of the installation, and whether you choose an HRV or ERV system. We provide customised quotes after an initial consultation.
