This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business. This may include:

  • Your name, company, job title, email address, phone number and site address or suburb

  • Information about how you use our website (see Website, cookies and analytics below)
  • For job applicants, suppliers and subcontractors: the information needed to assess and engage you, including licences and insurances

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information. Please don’t include it in enquiries.

How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you complete our website enquiry form, email or phone us, request a quote, engage us for work or deal with us on site. We may also receive information from builders, consultants, property managers or other parties involved in a project you are part of.

How we use it

  • To respond to enquiries and prepare quotes and tender submissions

  • To meet our legal, safety, licensing and insurance obligations
  • To improve our website and services

We do not currently use your information for marketing. If that changes, we will only send marketing with your consent and every message will include a simple way to opt out.

We do not sell personal information. We share it only where needed for the purposes above, with:

  • Our staff, and subcontractors and suppliers engaged to deliver your work (for example, to order equipment or arrange access)
  • Service providers that host or run our systems, including our email and office software (Microsoft 365), our website platform (WordPress.com, operated by Automattic) and our job management and accounting systems
  • Our professional advisers and insurers
  • Government agencies or regulators where required or authorised by law

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia. In particular, our website and its spam filtering (Akismet) and visitor statistics (Jetpack Stats) are provided by Automattic and may process data in the United States, and our email provider may store data in its global data centres. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers with appropriate security.

Website, cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate, keep the site secure, filter spam from form submissions and collect anonymous visitor statistics. You can disable cookies in your browser, although parts of the site may not work as intended. Enquiry form submissions are emailed to our team and a copy is stored in our website’s dashboard.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls and secure providers. We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations, then securely delete or de-identify it.
